On 14 March 2023, the UK Medicines regulator approved an application to reclassify the erectile dysfunction medication Cialis. When marketed asCialis Together(tadalafil 10mg), it will be a ‘P’ (pharmacy) medication, and so available ‘over the counter’ in pharmacies – see. This follows the 2018, ‘P’ classification of (sildenafil 50mg) which has been available OTC, without a prescription, since then.
This decision is good news for men’s health …. Erectile dysfunction can be a debilitating condition, so it’s important men feel they have fast access to quality and legitimate care
Dr Laura Squire, MHRA’s Chief Officer for Healthcare, Quality and Access
Unfortunately, there is a strong black market in the UK for ED medicines, which are often unlicensed or counterfeit. UK Border Force and the MHRA seize millions of pounds of these fake products from criminals annually. This new classification of tadalafil 10mg will enable men who suffer from ED to obtain it safely from a local pharmacy.
Sanofi, the drug manufacturer, is expected to launch Cialis Together later in 2023. Cialis Together will be available to purchase in pharmacies without a prescription by men over 18 with erectile dysfunction. Cialis Together tablets will contain 10mg tadalafil and the maximum pack size will be 8 tablets. Other doses and pack sizes of Cialis and tadalafil will still be available on prescription through doctors and specially trained pharmacists. Before purchase in a pharmacy there must be an assessment with a pharmacist, who will check that Cialis Together is appropriate and safe, or whether consultation with a GP is necessary.
Men suffering with ED will have another treatment option with the convenience of purchasing it in their local pharmacy, including pharmacies found inside supermarkets (eg. Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s). The pharmacist will ask some health questions, may check blood pressure, and will advise on treatment with Cialis Together or Viagra Connect, or the need to consult a GP. Pharmacies usually have a private room for such discussions.
Cialis Together is a 10mg tadalafil product for use at least 30 minutes prior to anticipated sexual activity. Its effects can last. It is not recommended for daily use. The maximum recommended dose of Cialis Together will be one tablet in 24 hours. Prescription Cialis and tadalafil will still be available at different doses.
Dr Fox welcomes the wider access to ED medication for men that Cialis Together classified as a ‘P’ OTC medication will provide. We at Dr Fox are aware of the difficulties men have in discussing ED with their GPs and in accessing ED medication. We know that Cialis is effective and safe for most men and this change provides another option for obtaining ED treatment. Pharmacists are health professionals who are able to give ED advice but they will also know when to refer men who would benefit from a doctor’s assessment. ‘P’ medicines can also be supplied on prescription, and we will offer Cialis Together, when available, alongside our other competitively priced ED products.

Viagra 50mg tablet contains an active component such as Sildenafil. This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It contains the active ingredient sildenafil citrate, which belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It increases blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, which helps men achieve and maintain an erection. Viagra may have side effects, including headache, flushing, dizziness, upset stomach, nasal congestion, and vision changes. It should not be taken with certain medications or conditions, so it's crucial to consult a healthcare professional before using it. Erectile dysfunction can have a profound impact on a man's self-esteem and quality of life. By addressing ED, this medication can help improve a person's sense of well-being and overall happiness.
Individuals with a history of cardiovascular diseases, such as heart problems (angina, heart failure, irregular heartbeats) or recent heart attack, should exercise caution when using Viagra. The sexual activity itself can strain the heart and can further increase the strain by increasing blood flow. Consult with a healthcare professional to assess the risks and benefits in such cases. This medication can cause a mild decrease in blood pressure. Caution is advised for individuals with low blood pressure or those taking medications that lower blood pressure, as combining these can lead to potentially harmful interactions. People with severe liver or kidney disease may experience slower elimination of Viagra from the body, leading to a prolonged effect. Dosage adjustments may be necessary in such cases.
What is erectile dysfunction?Erectile dysfunction, or erectile dysfunction (ED), is a condition characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. It's most common among men between the ages of 40 and 60, and is expected to increase with increasing age. In addition, there may be other causes for erectile dysfunction, which can vary in severity and how long they have been experienced by a person. Therefore, it's essential to exercise caution and ensure a consult with a healthcare professional. Kamagra's active ingredient, sildenafil, is a well-known PDE5 inhibitor. It belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, thereby causing an erection. This medication can only help a man have an erection if he is sexually stimulated. It's crucial to take this medication with or without food, as it can lower blood pressure. However, a can be taken in rare cases, so consulting a healthcare professional can help ensure that it's safe and appropriate for the individual's needs. This medication is typically taken approximately one hour before sexual activity, offering a two-hour window of opportunity before the anticipated activity.
Conjugated anti-sildenafil medications (AAS) are generally thought of as a two-tie-drug product; a traditional product that attempts toviation the purpose of sexual activity and a two-drug medication, or a combination product that combines the two. Each of these two approaches means that a user can have multiple attempts at achieving an erection, which can be satisfying and difficult to overcome without sexual activity. However, AASs can work just as effectively if they are taken with sexual activity. This combination can help a user have a more satisfying sexual experience, making it easier to engage in sexual activity more easily and leading to an erection.
AASs are popular due to their convenience and low cost. AASs are typically taken orally, such as with a pill, as needed, or as a by mouth. It's important to consult with a healthcare professional to ensure that this medication is appropriate for a person's needs and to discuss any concerns or questions that may arise during treatment. AASs are generally safe and effective when taken as prescribed, but it's crucial to consult with a doctor before taking them as it may cause side effects and interact with other medications. A healthcare professional can help a user understand the potential risks and alternative treatment options, which can include other medications, lifestyle changes, or devices that a user can take without ever leaving the user's body.
As with any medication, there are potential risks associated with AAS use. Although generally safe, AAS-taking individuals should consult with a healthcare professional if there are any concerns or questions about potential side effects. In some cases, the user may need to use other medications, such as oral contraceptives, which can interact with AASs. It's important to disclose all medications and supplements, vitamins, and herbal products to a healthcare professional before using AASs, as this can lead to certain ingredients (sildenafil citrate) being added to AASs, potentially causing adverse effects.
